Almost two years ago [i think], a young girl was murdered here. High school kid, cheerleader, all around great kid [although later made into a saint after the crime happened, which I think ppl do to most murder victims]. She was [try to not be disgusting...] beaten so badly that her face was unrecognisable, was sodomized and left in a field.
People were in an uproar. News and television coverage, while she was missing [a week] people encouraged the entire town to take off from work and look for her.
They found her, arrested the guy they say murdered her, and still have ribbons and stickers all over town reminding ppl of her.
Tonight I went to a bodega here, and saw a sign on the counter. Lil black kid, maybe 16 or 17, family offering a… humble sum for information about his murder. I asked the girl at the counter about it… she said 3 months ago, this kid’s body was found… in pieces… in a ditch.
3 months ago.
No newspaper or television coverage. No one knows, no one cares.
Why is it that basically the same thing happened, same age, just a different sex and a different colour and no one gives a flying rat’s ass. The lil guy ended the life he didn’t even get to start… in a ditch. in pieces.
No one cares.
